iPhone saves man’s life

10-04-2022

PARK WAY, CALIFORNIA: A man was stuck alone 15 feet below ice when an iPhone feature saved his life, Zee News reported.

Tim Blakey, 41, was snowboarding alone on a Swiss mountain when he suddenly fell into a crevice. The crack threw him 15 feet deep onto a snow bridge. Fortunately, the bridge helped him stay afloat.

The adventurer had no way to find help except to use his phone, which had a 3% battery left in it.

Even though he had fallen that deep, he was able to connect to 3G. Blakey described his experience, sharing on Instagram that water was continuously dripping on his phone’s screen.

However, iPhone’s emergency services came to the rescue.

“Thank you Apple, their side button 5 click to emergency services, especially excellent when your screen is constantly being dripped on) and to the service provider for giving me a 3G connection,” he said on his Instagram.

Pressing the iPhone side button five times gives users the opportunity to dial SOS which informs the local police about the trouble. Users have to set it up in the settings of their iPhone. (Zee News)
