Hyderabad: Mega Covid vaccine drive at Hitex Grounds

Hyderabad: June 6 ( PMI ) A mega Covid vaccination drive aimed at administering vaccines to at least 40,000 individuals above 18 years in Hyderabad got underway at Hitex Exhibition Grounds, Madhapur on Sunday.

The day-long Covid vaccination administration drive, which was inaugurated by Director of Public Health (DPH) Dr G Srinivasa Rao in the presence of Cyberabad Police Commissioner, VC Sajjanar and local public representatives, was organised by Medicover Hospitals, Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC).

Over 500 stalls were set-up at the Hitex exhibition grounds, which were manned by trained health care staff from Medicover Hospital for administering the Covid vaccine. Individuals, who had earlier registered with CoWIN application, had to walk-in, pay the cost of the vaccine through a QR code and get vaccinated, a process that got concluded within a matter of few minutes. Covaxin, developed by city-based Bharat Biotech was available for administration during the mega vaccination drive.

The event organisers maintained that the mega vaccine administration drive was taken up amid elaborate arrangements, strict implementation of Covid protocols, which also included encouraging the large number of public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour at every step.
