Hyderabad: 27-year-old murdered in broad daylight in old city

Hyderabad:June 6 (Salman  Yousuf PMI) A 27 year-old man was murdered by unidentified persons in broad daylight at Falaknuma on Sunday afternoon. One suspect involved in the case was detained by the police for questioning.

The victim identified as Abdul Shahrukh alias Shahrukh, is an auto rickshaw driver and resident of Mustafanagar in Mailardevpally police station limits. He was married around seven years ago and has three children.

According to the police, Shahrukh took a Honda Activa scooty of his friend at around 10.30 a.m saying he was going out and later along with the suspect, started from Mustafanagar. He was driving while the suspect was sitting pillon. “In a lane at Jahanuma, the suspect took some sharp object and slit the throat of Shahrukh while sitting behind him on the scooty,” an official supervising the investigation told Telangana Today.

On noticing blood oozing from his throat, Shahrukh jumped off the scooty and in his bid to escape, ran for some distance on the Jahanuma main road before collapsing on the ground. The suspect ran away from the place

On information, the Falaknuma police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination to Osmania General Hospital. A case is registered under Section 302 (murder) of IPC

The victim was previously involved in a POCSO case registered against him at Falaknuma and was arrested by the police. He was out on bail in the case.

The police are questioning the suspect to ascertain the motive behind the murder
