GHMC Drainage wing asked to complete Nala Desilation drive by June 10

Hyderabad, May.23 (NSS): Dr B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC has directed the Engineering officials to complete the pre-monsoon nala desilting works by June 10. In this connection, a review meeting with all the engineering officials, including K. Suresh, Chief Engineer Harichandana, Zonal Commissioner, Central participated.

While interacting with the officials, the Commissioner said this year the Nala Desiltation works has been taken up throughout the year through tendering process. Keeping in view of the onset of the monsoon, the 100% desiltation works has to be completed by June 10. So far, 49.42% pre monsoon desiltation works have been taken up, so far 2,45,415 cubic meters silt has been taken out. When compare to that of last year on 23rd May 2016, 2,34,492 cubic meters silt has been taken up when compare to that of last year 104.65% desiltation works have been taken up said the Commissioner.

In the present financial year 28.49 crores, 313 desiltation works have been sanctioned. This year 7,44,820 cubic meters silt will be taken out said the Commissioner. Out of which 4,96,546.68 cubic meters mud will be taken out in pre monsoon. For this mud and silt waste 4 dumping yards have been identified at Gajularamaram, Rajendranagar, Amberpet, Firjadiguda, the vehicles which are being transported kept under GPS tracking and also weighing of the silt with electronic weigh bridge, computers with latest information technology has been provided said the Commissioner. Separate Assistant Engineers have been deployed to give the information daily with regard to the removal of the waste through newly created App, said the Commissioner
