Film industry need not worry about drugs case: Talasani

Hyderabad, Minister for Cinematography, Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said cinema industry need not panic as the State government was not targeting anyone with regard to Drugs investigation case. He exhorted the cine actors and actresses or those in the field to avoid getting carried away with the investigation of Drugs Case which is ought to punish those involved.

The minister blamed the previous Congress government for ignoring the spread of the drugs business in the city. The TRS Government has made its focus on the issue and conducting investigation to banish the menace, he said. He also said many actors, actresses, producers, directors and technical persons permanently settled in Hyderabad and the entire film industry was not being targeted in the drugs case. He also said, “Just because a few artistes involved in the drug peddling and consumption, we cannot blame the whole film industry as it was caught in the web of Drugs abuse.

The Government did not target a particular field or a section of the society on the drugs case and those involved in the drugs sale and consumption will face action, Srinivas Yadav warned. The minister also said the Telugu Film industry is inHyderabad for quite a long time and many artistes have settled with safety and security. The minister said the State government was offering counseling for the parents to protect their wards from being falling a prey and losing better future due to use of the drugs.
