Exempt GST on TS schemes: TRS asks Centre

New Delhi,  Telangana today urged the Centre to exempt welfare schemes and flagship programs from GST regime. TRS MP Jithender Reddy raising the issue in parliament during its session the MP said that GST impact is adverse on the flagship programs such as Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, double bedroom housing scheme. The TRS MPs also shouted slogans to exempt GST onTelangana State. However the GST regime will have bad effect and the Centre should reconsider the issue he urged.

Jithender Reddy said that the state government has taken up these prestigious projects and schemes for the benefit of large chunk of society and people. The MP also objected that 18 per cent of GST regime is hampering the works of the projects and development schemes. He informed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has written letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley in this regard. Later, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who heads GST Council has said that he will take up the issue in the next meeting.
