 Cyberabad CP Shri Stephen Ravindra, IPS on Road Safety and Traffic Control’ Plans and performance should be in line with the situation at the field level: CP

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Shri Stephen Ravindra today held a meeting with the officers of all the Traffic Police Stations in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate., IPS, Road Safety and Traffic Review.

 The meeting mainly discussed traffic trends on the roads, measures to be taken to prevent road accidents, reducing the death toll in road accidents, drunk and driving and penalties, traffic movements, use of link roads, awareness, traffic black spots and road engineering. *

Speaking at the meeting, CP directed the staff to look into the traffic problems in Cyberabad at the field level and make plans accordingly. They want to identify the areas where most of the road accidents have taken place, look at the real reasons why more accidents are happening in those areas and work out action accordingly.

The staff of the Cyberabad Commissionerate wants to work in coordination to reduce the rate of road accidents and deaths. Drunk and drives should be maintained as much as possible to prevent road accidents. They want to see those caught in drunk and drive checks fined in the courts by law. Awareness programs should be conducted in various universities, colleges and workplaces to motivate the citizens on road safety and traffic education for the prevention of road accidents.

He also said that due to the link roads, the distance will be reduced and the traffic congestion on the main roads will be reduced. They want to motivate people on the newly built link roads. Issues like traffic black spots and road engineering came up for discussion so that people could set up signboards and use the new roads to disrupt traffic. He said that the basic resources required for traffic control will be provided to the appropriate personnel. CP said the staff should bring any issues to his attention.

The review meeting was attended by Traffic ADCP Srinivas Reddy, Madhapur Traffic ACP Hanumantrao, Shamshabad Traffic ACP Srinivas Naidu, Balanagar Traffic ACP Chandrasekhar Reddy, inspectors and other traffic police officials.
