Centre implementing a scheme to provide financial assistance to Indian women abused and abandoned by their overseas Indian spouses.

Hyderabad Jul 22:  Indian women who have been abused and abandoned by their Overseas Indian spouses the Ministry of External Affairs is implementing a scheme to provide them financial assistance.  In a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Krishna Raj said, this will help them in getting access to counselling and legal services, with Indian Missions and Posts abroad. The Scheme is currently operational, in 13 countries namely the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and the Gulf countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Consular Services Management System (MADAD) is an online portal developed by the Ministry of External Affairs to register grievances pertaining to the Consular Services offered by the Indian Mission and Posts abroad.
