BJP, TDP, left parties threaten agitation

Hyderabad, : The BJP, TDP, left parties and other political party leaders on Sunday strongly opposed the construction of the new secretariat and assembly building complex in places of the existing buildings.
Addressing an all-party round table complex held by Venkataswamy Foundation in the city, the leaders have said that they were ready to hold any kind of agitation to stop the state government from going ahead with its plans.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP state president Dr. K. Laxman alleged that CM KCR was creating an issue to divert the attention of the people of the state from glaring public problems. He also alleged that arrogance had become the habit of the state government while citing the issue of the death of 27 intermediate students. He alleged that CM KCR had brought to fore the issue of the construction of the new secretariat and assembly buildings complexes to diver the attention of the people and political parties of the state form the serious issue of the suicides of the intermediate students. He wondered as to why the CM KCR, who doesn’t come to the secretariat, require a new one. He advised the CM to clear the vastu dosam if he had one in the existing secretariat buildings. He alleged that the CM was now trying to siphon off the public money in the name of the construction of the secretariat and assembly building complexes after siphoning of the public money in the name of construction of the irrigation projects. Laxman alleged that KCR was thinking like a Nizam ruler. He called upon the people of the state to stop the CM from wasting the public money in the name of the vaastu dosam. He urged the political parties to announce an action plan on the issue till the state government withdrew its plans to construct the new secretariat.
TJS state president Prof. Kodandaram said that crore of rupees of money would be required to demolish the secretariat buildings. He demanded the state government to utilize those funds for solving other public problems. He said that there was an urgent need to protect the existence of the heritage buildings in the state. Noting that the state capital is turning into a tank for a small rain, he said that the construction of a new secretariat building would be a big question in such a scenario. He alleged that the control being constructed for the police force was being used for scaring the people of the state. He said that the CM should rule the state as per the constitution of India and not as per his wishes. He said that they would meet the governor a give a representation on the issue.
TTDP state president L. Ramana  has demanded the state government to release a white paper on the actual status of the state. He alleged that CM KCR had not fulfilled even a single promise made to the people of the state during the last six months. He alleged that the state government was not making efforts to solve the problems. He mocked the CM KCR that he was the only CM in the entire country who did not come to secretariat.
CPI state leader Venkat Reddy said that CM KCR was going ahead with his wrong decision to construct the new secretariat and assembly buildings despite strong opposition from all the opposition political parties of the state. He also alleged that CM KCR was coming up with a new idea every day to divert the attention of the people of the state from public problems. He said that there was a need to take public opinion on the issue in all the districts of the State.
