Khammam, Jan.14 (PMI): Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre of privatising Singareni Collieries in Telangana, Minister for Finance T Harish Rao has launched a campaign ” BJP hatao, Singareni bachao” in Khammam district.
As the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is planning to conduct a massive public meeting at Khammam on January 18, the party leaders held a preparatory meeting at Yellandu of Khammam district on Saturday.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Harish Rao said that the union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was planning to privatise the Singareni Collieries and as part of its conspiracy, the Singareni Collieries was gradually being pushed into a debt trap.
Taking a dig at former MP and BRS leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who has been sulking with the party for some time and is planning to join the BJP soon, Harish Rao said there is no scope for the BJP coming to power in Telangana and it will be remained like a suicide attempt for those who are joining the saffron party.
MP Ravichandra, MLAs Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Regaa Kantha Rao, former minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao and others were present. (PMI)
