Hyderabad’March’1’2023(PMI)March 1: A gang selling expired food items was arrested and remanded by the Medipalli police on Wednesday. Malkajigiri Zone DCP Dharawat Janaki, SOT Malkajigiri Zone DCP Giridhar, ACP Naresh Reddy along with CI Govardanagiri revealed the details in a press conference organized at the police station.
Ambalajain, Kamaljain and Sangeetjain of Abids and Troop Bazar in the city set up a center named Hariant Enterprises in Bodupal Reddy’s Colony six months ago. Expired food items are bought from those areas at a low price and the expired manufacturing date is changed and new dates are affixed on them and sold to the consumers at high prices and make money. On learning about this, Malkajigiri Zone SWOT police raided the base on Tuesday and arrested Naresh, Abdul Rahim and Umakant. Wednesday Expired goods worth Rs. 10 lakhs were seized and the three were remanded. The organizers are absconding.(PMI)
