Tinted glass, irregular number plates to mean trouble’Hyderabad Traffic Police

Hyderabad’June 11(PMI)Hyderabad Traffic Police will conduct a special drive for ensuring the safety and security of the Citizens from 18-06-2022 onwards against Tinted Glass / fixing black films on window glasses of cars, moving without/irregular registration no plate, having temporary registration plate even after one month of purchase etc. as these offences are observed to be contributors of, not only traffic violations, but also criminal activities.
In this regard Hyderabad Traffic police wish to create awareness on rules and regulations incorporated in Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, with regards to registration of No Plates, Temporary registration number plates and Tinted Glass (Wind Shield & Rear window & both sides windows).
I. SAFETY GLASSES/WIND SHIELDS: CMV Rule 100: The vehicle owners shall ensure that the windscreen and rear window of every motor vehicle that the visual transmission of light is not less than 70%. The glasses used for side windows are such and shall be maintained in such condition that the visual transmission of light is not less than 50%.

II. REGISTRATION NUMBER PLATES: CMV Rule 50, 51: The vehicle owners shall fix proper number plate on their vehicles as per the guidelines under rules 50, 51 of CMV Rule-1989 only.

III. TEMPORARY REGISTRATION NUMBER PLATE: MV Act Section 43: The temporary registration made under this section will be valid only for a period not exceeding one month and shall not be renewable. The vehicle owner shall get registered his vehicle, obtain permanent register number and fix the registration number plate according to rules 50 and 51 of CMV Rule, 1989.

Citizens are requested to abide by the above rules and regulations and guidelines. If any vehicle found violating the above rules and regulations a legal action will be initiated against the driver as well as against the owner of the vehicle as per law under Motor Vehicles Act and also the provisions of Sec. 188 I.P.C. (Indian Penal Code) and Sec 21 of Hyderabad City Police Act 1348F. Commission of violations of II & III, the errant drivers/owners of the vehicles will be prosecuted in the Hon’ble court of Law after filing charge sheets against them.
