YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a public meeting in Guntur

Guntur: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a public meeting here today as part of his historic Praja Sankalpa Yatra narrated a tale of a corrupt ruler, state chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

“Once upon time there a corrupt king. Through his actions he was making the people in the kingdom suffer. One day the king decided to wear God’s clothes and for this he invites the best of weavers in his kingdom. He asks them to weave a God’s dress that fits him.

“Already frustrated with the king’s rule, the weavers think of teaching him a lesson. They request for three months time to weave a God’s dress for him. The king agrees.

“After three months, the weavers came to the king’s palace with God’s dress packed in huge boxes. Before opening the boxes, the weavers mention that these are very special one, corrupt people will not be able to see them. Only noble people can see the dress, they inform. Saying thus they take out the clothes, ask the king to undress and wear these new clothes.

“The weavers dress up the king, while doing so one among them says, the golden flower on the dress looks very good. Replying to their comment, the king said ‘yes it is wonderful’. Later the king came to his court where numerous people are waiting. The king was without any clothes on him at the court. But his associates (just like our yellow media) went gaga over his dress.

“Their praise for the king was unprecedented and said the king should go around with this dress on an elephant. The king sat on the elephant without any dress and started going around. On noticing the king being without any clothes, a common man makes mockery of the king.”

After narrating the story, YSRCP President informed the public gathering that the corrupt king in this generation was none other than our Chandrababu. And the people who had appreciated the king’s clothes were the yellow newspapers and TV channels, he pointed out. The Opposition Leader informed that these media houses were hand-in-glove with the AP CM and always bowed to what Chandrababu told them. “When he told Special Package is better than Special Category Status (SCS), they all started saying the same was good for the state. Now after changing the stance demanding for SCS, they are claiming that Chandrababu was a great man who was fighting for the cause of AP,” he alleged.

YS Jagan mentioned that the yellow media was playing according to Chandrababu and that they went to the extent of giving the examples of North East states of not achieving anything with SCS. Not even one single yellow paper or TV channel has dared to question TDP chief about this shifting of stances every now and then, he said.

The YSRCP chief informed the huge public that gathered in Guntur, that the yellow media has not tried to question why the MLAs who had been poached from another party were given ministry in his cabinet. “Didn’t they find fault in this act of Chandrababu?”

The yellow media was blind towards the TDP’s atrocities and also are unaware of the way the party chief was playing with the lives of the people in the state, YS Jagan asserted. He asked the people to look at the behaviour of the yellow media and how they were trying to portray false as truth. “There is a need for everyone to know the truth behind this yellow media and its functioning. Unless people understand and talk about it, there will be no change among them. In turn the political scenario of the state will also not change,” he added.
