Two nabbed while trying to sell pistols

Hyderabad,  The Rachakonda SOT sleuths nabbed two persons for carrying two pistols with one live round and trying to sell each pistol for Rs one lakh.

The sleuths conducted a decoy operation at Saroornagar and apprehended the two and seized two pistols (one Italian 765 mm and one Indian 32 bore round), one live round and two mobile phones from their possession. The accused were identified as Putluri Eshwar Reddy, 28, alias Eshwar of Odisha  State and native of Bhumreddypally village under Pamur mandal of Prakasam districe and Tellagorlla Sunil Kumar alias Sunil, 29, of Pamuru  in Prakasam district.

            Eshwar, who studied up to Class VI strayed into criminal activities and became notorious as “Anna Bhai”. He was arrested and lodged in Raigarh district jail. While he was in jail, he came into contact with one Pappu of Bihar, who told Eshwar that he can arrange foreign pistols for committing dacoities. Accordingly, Pappu through his contacts brought two pistols and one live round from Bihar and Eshwar Reddy purchased both the pistols and live round for Rs 40,000. Eshwar and Pappu committed a number of offences by branding pistols and taking money and valuables.

            Eshwar Reddy informed Sunil he was having two pistols and asked him to search for customers atHyderabad. Both contacted their friends at Vijayawada and Hyderabad to sell the pistols and came toHyderabad. They contacted one Subbu of Vijayawada, who agreed to buy pistols from them. Both the accused came to Hyderabad along with pistols and contacted Subbu to come to Hyderabad for purchase.

            On receipt of the information, the Rachakonda SOT Team conducted a decoy operation and apprehended both and seized two pistols and one live round from their possession. On physical verification, the police found two pistols — one pistol made in Italy 765 MM RC No.11119 and another made in India 32 bore round RC No.142948 under the limits of Saroornagar Police Station. The police also seized two mobile phones from them.

            The raids were made under the direct supervision of Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, SOT Inspector Naveen Kumar, Lingaiah, Inspector, Saroornagar PS and SI Mahesh and staff of SOT.
