Swachh Survekshan event successful in Bagh Lingampalli

Hyderabad, MA&UD Minister K.T. Rama Rao today appealed to all citizens, students, various NGOs, RWAs, to actively participate in the Swachh Survekshan 2018 and get top rank in the event.

The Minister participated in the Swachh Survekshan campaign conducted by Srinivas Reddy, Corporator, Ramnagar division and Standing Committee Member, at B.R. Ambedkar College at Bagh Lingampally.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said the event was organized as a part of creating awareness on Swachh Survekshan program in the city from February 15 to 22 and some 15,320 students from various educational institutions, armed with broom sticks joined the program to set a new record and to spread the message to keep the city clean and green.

KTR said even before the Swachh Bharath initiative by the Union Government, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao launched Swachh Hyderabad initiative to make Hyderabad clean and green city. He also said the GHMC was striving to improve the performance in Swachh Survekshan 2018. Last year, Hyderabad ranked 22nd among the 434 cities and first among the metro cities, he added.

Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy has appreciated the initiative taken up by Corporator Srinivas Reddy and expressed satisfaction over a large number of students participated in the campaign and made the event successful.

GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy said the Corporation was conducting various awareness programs involving citizens in different initiatives. He also said this year,  4,041 cities are participating in the context of Swachh Survekshan 2018 where GHMC will have to compete with all the Municipalities and Municipal Corporations in the country. He appealed to the students and citizens to dial 1969 or give a missed call and helpHyderabad to bag top position. He also informed the citizens that they would get a call back and they need to answer the questions correctly to be in the top position in Swachh Survekshan 2018.

Corporator Srinivas Reddy thanked all the educational institutions for cooperating to make this program successful in just four days. He also thanked all the GHMC officials for taking initiative to make the event successful for creating awareness among the citizens.

Deputy Chief Minister  Mohd Mahmood Ali, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Corporators, public Rerresentatives and  senior officials of various departments participated in the program.
