Siddipet to be No 1 district: CM

Hyderabad, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today declared that Siddipet district will be made as a No 1 district in the State with all facilities and infrastructure with a focus on welfare and development.

Participating in some developmental programs here on Wednesday, the Chief Minister announced sops and said Siddipet district is his “Janmabhoomi” which gave him political birth. Getting nostalgic, Chandrasekhar Rao said as the then TDP founder-president late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao has given him the ticket to contest election from Siddipet, it would be his primary responsibility to make Siddipet as No. 1 district in the State by taking up welfare and developmental schemes, he asserted.

The Chief Minister laid foundation stone for the Integrated Collectorate office, Police Commissionerate Office and for Medical College at Duddeda in Kondapaka mandal in the district along with Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Irrigation Minister Harish Rao, MP Prabhakar Reddy, Chief Secretary S P Singh and others.

Addressing a public meeting later, the Chief Minister said local people’s demand of making Siddipet as district has been fulfilled and also they will soon get a medical college. The newly-formed State was able to achieve the growth rate of 21.7 per cent, which is the highest in the country. “Welfare and development programs launched by the State government after the formation of separate Telangana was giving good results with people’s support”, he said, adding envy at this, the Opposition parties were unable to digest the magnificent development and were making false allegations against him.

Announcing some sops to his native place, the Chief Minister said he would make Cheryal into a Municipality and additional 1,000 Double bed room house units will be sanctioned to the district apart from Rs 10 crore for construction of a cottage at Komaravelli Temple in the land available 165 acres and asked the officials to prepare project report for the development of tourist spot as Komati Cheruvu. He also promised to get Godavari waters to Ranganath Sagar, which would solve water problem for irrigation and drinking water purpose under Mission Bhagiratha aimed at providing safe drinking water to each and every house.

The Chief Minister claimed that in the world or in the country, no State has taken the scheme of giving cash of Rs 8,000 per acre for two crops in a year and it is only Telangana State which was going to launch this scheme next year. The KCR Kits program has become popular. With this, the Institutional deliveries have been enhanced multi-fold from 1.60 lakh to 4.50 lakhs in a year. Farmers’ debts of Rs 17,000 crore have been waived off and for the first time the crop growing system will be done in a scientific manner. As the process for identifying the crop zones was going on, the farmers will be able to sow the crop in a systematic manner as per the demand to boost farm productivity and get benefits to the farmers. Distribution of sheep rearing units was successful as 28 lakh units were given to the beneficiaries out of 84 lakh units. Efforts were on to protect the community profession by spending adequate funds.

TS Assembly Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, MPs Vinod, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Boora Narsaiah Goud, Chief Secretary SP Singh, DGP Anurag Sharma and several MLAs and MLCs besides other officials, were present.
