Senior Journalist Robbed And Injured At Rajendranagar

Hyderabad: Two people were arrested on Tuesday at Budwel on the charges of robbery and attempt to murder of a senior journalist.
The accused identified as Patla Nagaraju(28) and Kodige Mallesh(35) are the residents of Budwel in Rajendranagar. Nagaraju was working as a servant in the house of a senior journalist V. Shivarama Krishna, who is an ex-employee of TV5 and TV9. He was staying alone in the house after his wife’s dismise five years ago. However, Nagaraju came to know that his boss has cash and many valuables in the house.
Planning to kill the journalist and rob the cash, Nagaraju sought the help of Mallesh, who agreed to kill the journalist for Rs1 lakh and to help in the robbery. On Monday night, the two consumed alcohol around 9pm and Nagaraju pretended to sleep at journalist’s place. Around 11.40pm, Nagaraju turned off the power supply to the house, which was a clue to Mallesh to enter into the house.
When the journalist came out of his bedroom to ask about the power cut, Mallesh, who hid inside the house, hit him on head with a rod. Mallesh then robbed the house before escaping. Nagaraju also ran away from the spot, pretending to be scared of the thief. However, the duo met outside the house to get their share.
The accused robbed two gold chains, two gold rings, a silver ring, a smart phone, three SBH cheques of Rs 4.5 lakh, two blank cheques, two pass books of ICICI Bank and an ATM card
Based on the senior journalist’s complaint, the police nabbed the accused within hours of the robbery.
