Preference to Manzar Kashi over Majlis- e- Aza and Matamdari

Hyderabad 14 September, (Newslines): With the advent of holy month of Muharram, along with the preparation for conducting Azadari of Mazloom- e- Karbala, lots of clamors are also heard from different sections of the Shia Community regarding various issues some of which are sensitive and many of them lame just to let the community know that they are still alive and became active after the culmination of last year’s mourning period of two month and eight days. In the rest of the year they go into hibernation and are least bothered about the community issues and does not even show any interest to raise those issues or give representation on them.
Issues like sighting of the Moon, getting funds for restoration and repair works for Ashoor Khanas, setting up of Sabeel’s and lighting the areas of prominence and roads frequented by the Azadar’s and Zaireen are few of the many in which all the community leaders try to gain the credit or do favors to their relatives, friends and sycophants.
But this year they have come out with sensitive issue of Bibisa ka Alam procession, Azadari, Khooni Matam and rituals which are being observed while taking out Bibisa ka Alam at 1:00 pm from Bibisa ka Alawa in Dabeerpura on the 10th of Muharram.
It was astonishing to see an interview of a politician flanked by Mutawalli (Care taker) on one side and Alambardar on the other side inside the Alawa-e- Bibisa conducted by TV Sada- e- Hussaini who has become a political novice in the ruling party at the center and now want to create a space in the community as a leader while raising the issue of taking out Bibisa ka Alam. Why after 48 years he suddenly woke up on this issue and Why he wants the Alawa- e-Bibisa to be emptied before 11:00 am? Whole community and rest of the world knows very well that Grouh-e-Shaida-e-Shabbir(as) is the only Matami Anjuman performing Majlis and MAtam since 48 years and the the Alam is taken out amid the Azadar’s performing Khooni Matam of Khama Zani in the chants of “Ya Hussain Ya Hussain” and offer their condolence to daughter of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.S) and Mother of Imam Hussainas Janabe Fatema Zahrasa . Where was he, when he was holding high post in the political party? Was he Sleeping or was least bothered about the community affairs? When he is not holding any post and has no work to perform he is playing pity politics in the religious affairs of the community.
The community is least concerned about the statement made by Mr. Haneef Ali, Ex Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Morcha (BJYM), as political leaders want to create controversy to be in lime light and roast their bread and butter on it. Surprising thing is that he was flanked by prominent personalities on either side, Alambardar (Standard Bearer) and the Mutawalli (Care taker) and both of them contending that the Manzar Kashi, wherein according to them in yester years during the period of Nizam and a few years after him, when the Alam was taken out the women used to break their bangles in front of Alam and throw their Lachas (Mangal Surtra) in front of the Alam. While they forget or deliberately omitted that shahnaees, trumpets used to be played, eatery shops used to be there inside and people used to eat and view the taking out of Alam dressed in colorful clothes giving a festive look. Do they really want all this rituals back? Which has been replaced by Majlis e Aza and Matam dari by our community leaders, Ulama, Zakereen and more prominently by the Azadars who used to perform majlis and sinazani round the clock during these 10 days of Muharram since last five decades at the Alawa e Bibisa.
The interview posted on Sada e Hussaini Channel has taken out the veil from the faces of so called Alambardar and Mutawalli (Care taker), as they are least bothered about the Azadari the Shia way of giving condolence to the grieved Mother of Imam Hussainas. Instead they are more interested in the chadhawas of golden Lachas (Mangal Sutra) which are thrown in front of the Alam as it will generated revenue for their livelihood as their income from the shops inside the Alawa is no more and other religion Zaireen used to (throw). According to the interview the throwing of Lachas is missing since the Alawa is thronged since five decades by the Matamdars and they give their Nazarana of tears and blood to the Mother of King of Martyrs and not anything to the Alambardar and Mutawalli (Care taker).
When they are the pleading to bring back yester year rituals by the Umoor-e- Mazhabi, of the Nizam Trust, they should also follow the all the thing of the yester years. When wealthy people offer dhattis and hefty Nazrana they are diverting the Alam to their house or establishment. They should follow the same stops which were there in the erst while Nizam time? Why additional stopovers? The Alam used to be in the front and all the Matami Anjuman’s and Grouh’s used to follow it? Why the Alam is following the Matamdars? The Alam as per the ancient ritual is being taken out exactly at 1:00 pm without any delay or obstruction by the Matamdaars since last five decades but the procession has to culminate at Masjid e Elahi before Maghrib prayers. Why it is not being followed? Last but not the least, who is the actual recipients of Dhatis, Goudh and other offering made by the devotees? It is learnt from reliable sources that they are being sold to the people who want to get it as tabaruk in the name of Hadiya.
The community was silent but was aware of this activities going on since long time. But when they crossed the line by asking to stop Majlis e Hussainas, Azadari and Khooni Matam and asking the authorities to vacate the Bibisa Ka Alawa by 11:00 am for taking out the Bibisa Ka Alam the youth felt the need to expose the whole scenario behind this call. Youth have to understand and analyze the motives behind such call.
The Azadars and Matamdars of Hyderabad have their unique identity among the Shia’s of the World for their Khooni Matam and Azadari round the clock during the mourning days of two month eight days. Calls like this against the Azadari and Matamdari are not new, they sprang up during the Muharram and matamdars believe that those voices will be annihilated by their Protector Babul Hawaigh Abul Fazlil Abbasas .
