Ponnala resents attack on BC leaders for party debacle

Hyderabad, : Condemning the attack on BC leadership in Congress party, former PCC Chief Ponnala Laxmaiah said it was not correct to a section of party leaders to argue that they were fetched victories and BCs were responsible for party defeat in 2014 elections.

The Congress Party BC Leaders Forum met here on Friday and discussed about BC leaders. He said that the BC Forum was condemning the bad publicity towards BC leaders. Making it clear that the Forum was not against any political party and a particular section, he said that the Forum will refute the allegations making against BC Leadership. The Forum was floated only to control the surprising argument against the BC leadership.

Another former PCC Chief V Hanumantha Rao lamented that there was no identity to the BCs in political parties though they were more than 50 percent in the society. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and BJP concentrated on BC votes but the Congress party not given adequate priority to the BCs. There was a need to unite the BC, SC, ST and Minorities in the Congress party, he opined and said that the High Command will decide who would be the Chief Ministerial candidate in the Congress party.

Telangana Congress Forum for Backward Classes leader Dr P Vinay Kumar has made it clear that the Forum was not against the CLP leader K Jana Reddy and TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao shattered hopes of the BCs, who thought that their future would be changed in separate Telangana State. The Chief Minister was doing great injustice to the BCs by diluting the Fees Reimbursement Scheme systematically, he claimed. KCR was wooing BCs by distributing sheep and fish and keeping education aside. He asked the Congress leadership to accord priority to the BCs in the party.

Congress BC Forum convener Dr T Nagaiah alleged that the BCs were facing injustice and insults in Congress party and lamented that the BCs were not enjoying the fruits they are supposed to get. The BC Forum would expose the injustices meted out in Telangana State and it will explain to the people as to how the Chief Minister was fooling the BCs in the State, he said. The Forum was floated with the aim to see that the BCs have to get their due share in the political parties and government. The Forum will be spread to village level soon, he said. The Forum would work aiming to bring the Congress party to power.
