Nokia to partner with TS Fiber Grid: KTR

 

Hyderabad, May.24 (PMI): Global Telecom company Nokia has evinced keen interest to partner with Telangana Fiber Grid project while Mule Soft company has promised to set up its unit in Hyderabad.

   During a meeting with IT Minister KT Rama Rao at California in the US today, the Telangana IT Minister interacted with top officials of various companies as part of his foreign visit to lure the companies and business men to invest in Telangana. KTR held meetings with Nokia and Ericson companies at Silicon Valley in the United States of America and urged them to partner with his State in its growth trajectory. He also interacted with other companies like Mule Soft and Skype and participated at Cells Force “fire side chat session and US ITC round table conference and explained about the State schemes giving boost to industries, businesses and policies for ease of doing business.

KTR explained about the fiber grid program to provide high speed internet facility to each household which will revolutionalise the telecom sector and internet services across the nation. Nokia team has expressed its interest to partner with Fiber Grid program very soon by issuing RFP. The minister also urged Nokia to invest in Data Analytics project in the state by either setting up mobile manufacturing company or research and development center in Telangana state.

KT Rama Rao also made a visit to Ericson Company and had a look at the facilities at its experience center that is offering services in internet facility and research works. Later the IT Minister also addressed a meeting US India Business Council and spoke on the subject “Priorities in Investments in Telangana – Opportunities”. KTR said that the youngest of India has come up with unique industrial policy and business innovation methods to give boost to new industries and businesses of international importance. Our aim is to encourage the core groups of business and trade and attract investments in the state to participate with its growth trajectory. Other states are following our policies he said adding that the government is also focusing on solar energy and develop and expand IT sectors.

During a meeting with Mule Soft Company KTR explained about hassle free new industrial policy and investments attracted so far and Telangana is witnessing fast development and rapid growth in various sectors. Mule Soft Company also shown interest to expand its business in Hyderabad. In another meeting with Stripe company, KTR said that Telangana is in forefront to push ahead digital transactions. In the wake of demonetization and digital transactions Stripe company has ample scope to invest in Telangana. The company said to extend cooperation to those who want to open up companies in US through their product Atlas. With this we can work in close association with T Hub which is encouraging a numerous start up companies and also with T Bridge in US. (PMI)
