Names of five sitting MLAs missing in first list

Hyderabad, Sept.6 : Five members of the just-dissolved Telangana Assembly did not find place in the first list of 105 candidates announced by TRS president and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday. He said the names of candidates for some of the seats in the 119-member Assembly would be finalized shortly. Sitting member of Lok Sabha from Peddapalli constituency Balka Suman was being fielded from Chennur constituency. He is the only MP to be fielded to the Assembly.
Addressing the media, Chandrashekhar Rao also announced that two sitting legisalators – Nallala Odelu from Chennur and Babu Mohan from Andhole – were not being renominated. “We have spoken to them and they agreed to be dropped,” he said, adding that they will be replaced by Balka Suman (Chennur) and Chanti Kranti Kiran (Andhole).
The five constitutencies for which the TRS president has not announced the names indicating that the sitting members may not be nominated are: Medchal – M. Sudheer Reddy, Malkajigiri – C. Kanaka Reddy, Choppadandi – Bodige Shobha, Vikarabad – B. Sanjeeva Rao and Warangal East – Konda Surekha.
Danam’s name too missing
The name of former minister Danam Nagendar, who walked into the TRS party recently, also did not find place in the first list. As Khairatabad Assembly seat was one of the prominent constituencies in the State, KCR kept Danam’s name in pending as some more strong leaders, including P Vijaya Reddy, daughter of former Labour minister late P Janardhan Reddy, were keenly trying for the seat. Therefore, the party supremo reportedly decided to choose the nominee for Khairatabad after consulting with party high priests.
KCR announced Muddasani Rammohan Goud, husband of local corporator, as the candidate for LB Nagar segment. Interestingly, he picked up another leader P Narender Reddy, younger brother of Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy for Kodangal segment and denied ticket to son of Gurunath Reddy, a senior leader in the party, who was expecting ticket.
The TRS supremo kept under wraps the names of the candidates for the segments including – Amberpet, Musheerabad, Khairatabad, Goshamahal, Charminar, Malakpet, Kodad, Huzurnagar, Zaheerabad, Warangal (East), Malkajgiri, Medchal, Choppadandi and Vikarabad.
