Nagole-Miyapur Metro Rail launch in Nov: KTR

Hyderabad : Metro Rail project first phase services will be launched from Miyapur either on November 15 or 20, according to Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao. He announced that there will be one ticket to avail Metro Rail, RTC and MMTS services in the twin cities.

The minister inspected the Metro Rail works at Secunderabad Oliphanta Steel Bridge along with Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Information Commissioner Navin Mittal and other officials. Metro Rail, RTC and MMTS will together have one ticket to travel, the minister said, adding that services of Ola and Uber Cabs will be attached to the metro stations for swift movement of the commuters.

The Metro Rail route map App will be launched, the minister said, adding he would discuss with Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Metro Rail construction works in the Old City. The State Government has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch the Metro Rail project in November and the date is yet to be finalized, he said. The 29km stretch between Nagole and Miyapur will be launched in November and the services will be on par with Delhi Metro Rail, he said.

KT Rama Rao said the Metro Rail project was very tough in the city that began in 2012. The Minister said there will be four ways to move in to Metro Railway station. Steps have been taken to avoid traffic problems at the metro station, he added. The minister has gone through the project map on the occasion and discussed with NVS Reddy on the related works.
