At a program at his residence the minister gave cheques worth Rs 53.55 lakhs to 200 committees of the temples spread in his Sanath Nagar constituency. Speaking on the occasion Srinivas Yadav said that the people of all religious are celebrating festivals in a grand manner after formation of Telangana State. The government is offering equal priority to all festivals of all religions in the state.
He also said that for Bonalu festival the government released Rs 10 cr this year against Rs 5 cr released last year for the festivities. Temple committees received the funds and conducted the events on a grand note as people thronged the premises to offer prayers he said. Besides the release of the funds all departments made coordinated efforts in successful conduct of the festival the minister appreciated. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is for equal priority to all religious and giving adequate funds for the festivities including Muslims, Christians, he said.
