Instead of lavish celebrations, Shabbir spent time with orphanage children , students of various schools and slums of old city of Hyderabad in front of the Historic Charminar ,where he distributed Blankets, books and scholarships to the poor orphanage Children, students of old city and cut his birthday cake.
He recollected that how the Congress government and himself as minority welfare minister struggled to provide 4 % quota for minorities in education and employment, he said thousands of students and youth could get benefit of these measures. ‘The minority youth (particularly Muslims) should take advantage of the same to lift the community out of burning issues plaguing them -unemployment and poverty ‘ he said .
