LEGAL METRO LOGY DEPT SHOULD WORK WITH POLICE FOR CONTROLLING ADULTERATION

Hyderabad, May 6 (PMI): Legal Metrology Controller Akun Sabharwal directed Officials to take strict measures to control adulteration. He said for controlling adulteration, the Legal Metrology Department should also take help and work together with police department.

          Controller held a review meeting on Sunday at Legal Metrology Office, Gandhinagar, with Legal Metrology Regional Deputy Controllers (RDCs), Assistant Controllers (ACs), District Legal Metrology Officers (DLMOs), Inspectors Legal Metrology (ILMOs). He inspected Laboratory, Petrol and Gold quality checking instruments situated at Legal Metrology Office.

          Controller said that there are several complaints on the Legal Metrology Department work. All the officials and employees should work more with dedication, collective, integrity and with great efficiency to gain the honor to the department. He set 30, 50 and 100 days targets to DLMOs. He said to give the details of goals they would achieve in this targeted days. He warned them that the set goals should be completed in the stipulated time, or else strict actions would be taken against them. He ordered officials to submit daily ground report to him on the works completed by the Inspectors.

          Legal Metrology Officials have the orders to check 43 types of trading items, like Petrol Pumps, Gold Shops, Dharam Kaantaas, Kerosene, Lubricants, Rice mills, Paddy Purchasing Centers, Steel, Cement, Fertilizers, Hardware, Electricals, etc. Controller said adding that strict surveillance should be kept on the trading items; especially items which are more related to common people should be kept on special focus. He said it our responsibility to see that common man is not in loss or is facing any fraud from the traders. (PMI)
