KTR Wants Slum Dwellers to Cooperate in Housing Schemes

Hyderabad,  K.T. Rama Rao,  Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development has laid foundation stone for  2 bed room housing at Old Maredpally and another one at Gandhinagar, Sriram Nagar,  under Secunderabad Cantonment Constituency. While addressing the gathering the Minister said that a target was set to complete the construction of one lakh double bedroom houses in the GHMC limits and ​to ​hand over the same to ​beneficiaries on top priority.

            The  Minister said that among the one lakh houses,  87,000 houses construction is  already in progress in different parts of the twin cities in GHMC limits. The Government  of Telangana is striving hard to take up the double bed room housing scheme for the benefit of the poor and needy without seeking ​any contribution from the beneficiaries.  The Government ​is spending Rs.8.70 lakh on each house and the market value of the house would rang​e from Rs.30 to 40 lakh,  the  Minister added.

            The  Minister appealed to the people to cooperate with the Government in constructing the double bed room houses. Responding to some of the issues in Bhojagutta area,  the Minister assured that the issues will be addressed soon. The Government  is working for the benefit of the poor to make the Hyderabad slum free city and there are around 2000 slums in the city and if the residents come forward and cooperate,  the Government will take up construction of double bed room houses on top priority.

            Mohd. Mahmood Ali,  Deputy Chief Minister,  T. Srinivas Yadav,  Minister for Animal Husbandry, Malla Reddy,  M.P., G. Sayanna,  MLA, Dr.B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC also participated in the programme.
