KCR insulted women by distributing cheap Surat saris, say Congress leaders

Hyderabad : Displaying Bathukamma  saris before the media, Congress leaders T Jeevan Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today alleged that the State government mortgaged the self-respect of Telangana women by distributing poor quality of saris.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Jeevan Reddy said the government was trying to cover up its irregularities in the sari distribution. The government brought saris in kilograms from Surat, he alleged. The government was trying to create hype in the name of saris, he said. The government brought polyester saris at Surat in clearance sale, he alleged and said the value of the sari will not exceed more than Rs 100 and blouse worth not more than Rs. 10.

The laborers got angry as they got just Rs 100 worth of sari while losing Rs 200 daily wage. The government was filing cases against the Congress activists, he alleged. He demanded that the government give Rs 1000 to each family and said that there was no  place where no protests. He demanded the government to with draw cases against the Congress activists and also asked government to order judicial inquiry into the sari issue.

Komatireddy alleged that KCR behaving like a dictator and playing games with women while increasing wine shops. Asking the TRS leaders to play Bhathukuthada while wearing government saris, Komatireddy alleged that Bathukamma saris was a big scam. He said he was ready to contest as MP from Nalgonda constituency. ” I will win With huge majority than Warangal MP” , he said.
