Habitual chain snatcher nabbed within 24 hours

Hyderabad,  South Zone Task Force personnel on Wednesday nabbed a habitual snatcher Mohd Ameer alias Amer and Prince and recovered a 30 gram gold chain and a Honda Shine vehicle from his possession.
Police said accused Mohd. Ameer, 28, is an auto driver residing at Errakunta in Shaheen Nagar. Mohd Ameer was born and brought up in Papaiah Basti, Chaderghat and transformed into a habitual snatcher. He was involved in over 60 cases of snatchings under the three police commissionerates. He started committing crimes while he was a juvenile. Several times he went to jail. He was detained under PD Act in 2015 by Chikkadpally PS.
After release from PD Act, he again committed some 25 snatchings cases in Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad police Commissionerates within a few months. Lastly, he was arrested by Tukaramgate police on December 11, 2016 and released from jail on March 30, 2018.
After release from jail, he again began snatchings. He first committed theft of a Honda Shine motorcycle by using a duplicate key on the midnight of April 1 under Chatrinaka police limits and on April 3, he snatched a gold mangalsutram chain from a woman under Malakpet PS limits. On a tip-off, the police nabbed the snatcher within 24 hours after the commission of crime.
The arrest was made under the supervision of K. Madhu Mohan Reddy, Inspector of Police, South Zone and SIs K.N. Prasad Varma, G. Venkata Ramireddy, N. Srishylam and Mohd Thakiuddin and staff of South Zone Task Force.
