GHMC Commissioner Asks People to utilize technology to know about Rain

Hyderabad,  Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC appealed to the citizens to utilize the available technology to know the details of the rains etc., through the website: imdhyderabad.gov.in where the Meteorological Department will update the radars pictures every 10 minutes so that the citizens will be able to know the prevailing situation at the emergency and can plan accordingly to proceed further without having any problem even the citizens can login GHMC website to know the details of water logging and vulnerable points to tackle the emergency situation.

Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC, Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Yogitha Rana, Collector Hyderabad District, Dana Kishore, MD, HMWS&SB and senior officials of various Government Heads line departments have attended the emergency convergence meeting held at GHMC Head Office today.

          The Commissioner, GHMC while addressing the media said that heavy down pour occurred about 10 to 12 cms of rain from 4 to 7 PM yesterday and it has been observed at Bahadurpura and Rajendranagar there was continuous rain for about 45 minutes to one hour and almost all parts of the city witness to water stagnation, water logging in many areas with which lot of traffic problems occurred.

            In-spite of heavy rains occurred yesterday that to on being a holiday all the Heads of the line Department have swung in to action and able to tackle the emergency situations right from ground level, medium level and all the Zonal, Deputy Commissioners were personally monitored various issues during heavy down pour and all the emergency teams circle wise have also been deployed to tackle the emergency situation.

          The Commissioner, GHMC directed the Town Planning officials to send SMS as well as the notices to the owners of the dilapidated buildings to vacate the buildings for better safety and further directed all the officials of various departments to be alert to tackle the situation as and when the need is arises.

            The Commissioner also appealed the citizens to call emergency number 100 and also 040 21 11 11 11 to register their grievances of various nature like water logging, traffic, electricity, drinking water etc., where all the connected officials and emergency teams will be sorting out the problems at once related to their respective departments.

          The Commissioner, GHMC has also stated that about 3 deaths have been occurred due to heavy rains and an ex-gratia will also be given to the deceased from the Mayor funds and as usual from the Government funds.

            Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad,  Dana Kishore, MD,  HMWS&SB,  Yogitha Rana, Collector Hyderabad District have given their suggestions like utilizing the citizens mobile numbers to create awareness about the forecast of the rain well in advance so that the citizens can be well planned to tackle the emergency situation.
