For outgoing President Pranab Mukherjee Parliament will be hosting a farewell programme inside its Central Hall tomorrow. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan made the announcement yesterday and requested all the members to attend the function. The programme will start at 5:30 in the evening and will be addressed by the Speaker and Vice President Hamid Ansari, who is also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the function.

Yesterday, Chiefs of Staff Committee hosted a farewell Banquet in honour of the outgoing President, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, Service Chiefs and other senior military and civilian officials attended the Banquet. Mr Mukherjee has extended his best wishes to all members of the Armed Forces and their families. He also paid rich tributes to the martyrs and their families for their sacrifices to the nation. President elect Ramnath Kovind will be sworn in on the 25th of this month.
