CPI wants new CCLA appointed immediately

Hyderabad : The CPI has demanded that the State government appoint a senior IAS officer as Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) immediately instead of continuing the Chief Secretary as CCLA.

In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday, CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said the CCLA post, which was crucial in the Revenue department, remained vacant for several months. The State government has assigned the CCLA post to Chief Secretary as additional responsibility. The responsibilities of CCLA to Chief Secretary, who supposed to supervise the State governance continuously, would burden him.

The State government announced that it would take up comprehensive land survey. At the same time, the government has taken up computerization of land records. On the other hand, land disputes and land scams like Miyapur were taking place frequently these days. It was not wise for the State government to keep the CCLA post, which deals with land records and documents, vacant at this crucial time, he added.
