CP CYBERABAD APPEAL TO CELEBERATE INCIDENT AND ACCIDENT FREE NEW YEAR 2020

Cyberabad Dec 21 (PMI):  Cyberabad Police conducted a meeting today with the Bar and Restaurants, Resorts, Convention Centres, Pubs, Hotels and Event Organizers regarding the New Year Celebrations. Cyberabad CP appeals the public to celebrate incident free and accident free New Year 2020. Cyberabad CP VC Sajjanar, IPS, along with the Madhapur DCP A. Venkateshwar Rao IPS., Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy IPS Balanagar, DCP Padmaja, Cyberabad Traffic DCP SM Vijaykumar, IPS. Admin ADCP Lavanya NJP, Traffic ADCP Amarnath Reddy, SOT DCP Sandeep participated in the meeting.

Mr VC Sanjjanar IPS CP Cyberabad wishes the people of Cyberabad Metropolitan area a very happy and prosperous New Year –2020.  While the police does not want to interfere in the festive mood of the citizen on the eve of New Year and all are requested to follow certain guidelines/ restrictions during celebrations in view of public safety.

Restrictions / guidelines for “New Year”Celebrations-2020 – Regarding.

General:

  1. Any event organized anywhere in Cyberabad shall be conducted after obtaining the Police Permission duly applying with all the relevant details at least 10 days before the vent.
  2. As per the TS Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act, 2013, the organizers shall ensure that adequate CCTV cameras with recording facility are installed at all entry, exit, parking and public gathering points in their establishments.
  3. The organizers shall provide adequate security guards/ traffic regulation staff at the event venue
  4. The organizers shall not allow any kind of firearms to the events. Adequate measures to scrutinize each person in the venue shall be put in place.
  5. The organizers shall not issue the tickets/coupons/passes to the event in excess of their capacity. Any deviation leading to L&O issues will lead to legal; action.
  6. Peace and order shall be maintained inside the venue by the organizers
  7. The alcohol selling and consumption in their venue shall be as per the prevailing excise laws in the State. It shall not be sold beyond the prescribed timings.
  8. Liquor shall not be served without any valid License/ permission by the competent authority i.e., Excise Department of Telangana
  9. Minors should not be served liquor and any deviation will attract legal action against the sellers
  10. There shall not be any display or use of fireworks in and around any event venue
  11. The fire safety guidelines of the District Fire Officer/Regional Fire Officer shall be scrupulously followed by the organizers.
  12. Liability for any kind of loss or damage to life or property, L&O issues, nuisance etc., due to the organization of the event will rest with the applicant/organizers.
  13. The organizers shall ensure that nobody consumes any kind of prohibited narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances in and around the venue. Any failure in this regard will make the management of the venue and the event organizers liable for action as per law. Parking areas and other areas around the venue shall be kept under tight surveillance to prevent any clandestine selling or consumption of such drugs.
  14. Do not trust unknown persons or strangers for help in emergency anywhere
  15. Avoid nuisance in public places/parties. Creating disturbance to residents by way of shouting, usage of high decibel music/sound systems will attract legal action.
  16. Consumption of alcohol in public places/unauthorized places will result in legal action
  17. Creating nuisance in a private party or at any event going on with due permissions will lead to legal action.
  18. Obscenity and any other unlawful behaviour will result in action as per law

Traffic management and road safety:

  1. The objective of the Traffic Police is to ensure ‘accident free’ and safe celebrations of New Year Eve in the city. Public need to exhibit sense of responsibility in realising this.
  2. The organizers of any event shall make arrangements to provide drivers/cabs/taxis to their customers who are in drunken state to reach their destinations safely.
  3. The organizers shall arrange for adequate security guards/ traffic regulation staff to park the visitors’ vehicles in an orderly manner inside the venue.
  4. Minor persons and persons without valid Driving License shall not be allowed to drive any kind of vehicles on public roads. Otherwise, the owners of such vehicles will also be held responsible as per law.
  5. Motor cycle riders (including pillion riders), shall wear proper headgear while the driver and other passengers in cars shall put on the seat belt for safety.
  6. Special and extensive checking for drunk driving will be held across the Commissionerate limits and the offenders will be booked. Public need to cooperate with Traffic Police in conducting such tests on roads.

The vehicles of the drunk drivers will be detained for temporary custody in view of road safety. Such persons shall make alternative arrangements to reach their destinations.

The drunk drivers shall attend the counselling next day at the Traffic Training Institute, Cyberabad at Madhapur Traffic PS along with a family member as per the Supreme Court Guidelines.

Then, they shall attend the court and the punishment for Drunk Driving may include penalty of Rs. 10000 and/or imprisonment for 6 months.

Proposals will also be sent for suspension or revocation of their DL as per section 19 of the MV Act.

Any road crash resulting in injuries/deaths due to drunk driving will also make the event organizers responsible for not taking adequate preventive measures to curb drunk driving.

  1. Over speeding and rash driving shall be avoided and the Speed limits shall be followed by all vehicle drivers on all roads.
  2. Usage of high decibel sound systems in the vehicles will result in seizure of such vehicles by Traffic Police.
  3. Many vulnerable roads and fly-overs will be closed for vehicular movement on the New Year night ion view of road safety. Public shall follow the directions of Traffic Police and abide by all the restrictions in place.
  4. Legal action will be taken against the owners of commercial establishments (shops/restaurants/bars/pubs etc, if they create any kind of traffic issues on public roads.
  5. Vehicle owners/drivers shall not park their vehicles on roads/footpaths in the city. Such vehicles will be towed away by Traffic Police and cases will be booked.

  1. Any obstruction/disturbance to the lawful duties of Traffic Police will result in criminal cases against the persons responsible

Women and child safety:

  1. Liquor shall not be served to minors by anybody
  2. Do not allow the children to drive any vehicles and also not to allow the children to play/wander on the highways/roads in the city alone
  3. Do not venture into lonely, dark & secluded places
  4. Safeguard your drink during the party to avoid strangers/frenemies from adding intoxicants to your drink & taking advantage of the same
