City selected for Mobile Radiation Detection System project: CP

Hyderabad, : National Disaster Management Authority, New Delhi, selected “Hyderabad City” along with 55 others in other States for implementing its pilot project on “Mobile Radiation Detection System” in which police are the first responders.
As the system involves handling of special instruments and training to police personnel, Anjani Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, under his leadership organized a twp-day workshop on July 5 and 6 on “Mobile Radiation Detection System” to constable officers from patrol cars and QRT at Police Commissioner’s office Conference Hall at Basheerbagh here.
The Commissioner stated that the police personnel are the first and last hope to the public, whenever any untoward incident occurs in the society, be it floods, building collapse, earth quake, fire accident and son on. The usage of technology in today’s modern world was growing rampantly and its use and misuse shall be known equally by all. Police must be prepared and well equipped in all forms of such incidents, to mitigate its impact and ability to control any situation.
Anjani Kumar also said the participants in the workshop should understand and share the impact of Radio Nuclear disasters on the society and the policeaas emergency response to provide relief measures on safety of members of public and property.
