BJP demands judicial probe into riot in Utkoor village

Hyderabad,  Telangana BJP floor leader G Kishan Reddy today demanded judicial inquiry into riot in Utkoor village in Mahbubnagar District and stop harassing the Opposition leaders.

Addressing the media at State BJP office here on Sunday, Kishan Reddy questioned whether Hindu festivals should be held after taking permission from the police? He accused the TRS government of not releasing funds for development of areas where BJP leaders live. Alleging that the police filed cases under PD Act against innocent people in connection with the Utkoor incident, he demanded that the government withdraw illegal cases filed against the innocent people.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Kishan Reddy demanded that the government take action against erring police officers, especially against SP Kamaleshwar Singnewar and DSP Srinivas Reddy. He alleged that the police made false representation to the District Magistrate of Mahbubnagar and got the village sarpanch detained.

After communal tension erupted during Ganesh idol immersion procession, the police did not allow the people to celebrate Dasserah festival and imposed illegal curbs on their movement. In order to cover up their mishandling of the situation, the police allegedly engineered a riot.

The BJP leader parried a question on TTDP leader A Revanth Reddy’s affairs. There was no need to answer the question about Revanth Reddy, he curtly said.

BJP MLC N Ramchender Rao, State party unit treasurer Nagurao Namaji, BJP zonal in-charge G Padmja Reddy, BJP Mahbubnagar district president and others were present.
