Kakinada: A biker had a miraculous escape after an iron rod pierced through his neck and mouth in an accident, at Yanam on Saturday.
The biker, Suresh, was travelling on his two-wheeler on National Highway 216 near Yanam. He lost balance when he swerved to avoid collision with an oncoming auto-rickshaw. As he fell down, an iron rod lying on the road pierced through his neck and exited from his mouth. Passersby immediately shifted him to Kakinada Government Hospital. Road repair works are underway at Yanam on the NH-216 and the iron rod must be from the construction material left by the workers, eye witnesses said.
