Distribution of Bathini Fish Prasadam on June 8

Hyderabad, May 29 (PMI): The annual fish prasadam claimed to cure asthma and respiratory illnesses will be administered to asthama patients free of cost by Bathini brothers on Mrigasira Karthi Day at Exhibition Grounds in Nampally from evening  6. pm. on  Saturday June 8  and till Sunday   6. pm. on June 9 .

Addressing mediapersons here on Wednesday,  Bathini Harinath Goud, along with his family members said fish “prasadam” is distributed to the patients on the day of Mrigasira Karte, which marks the onset of monsoon according to Hindu calendar. “On our request, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and Chief Secretary S. K. Joshi directed the departments concerned to provide all facilities”, he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Joshi  held a review meeting with all the departmental heads concerned and directed them to provide all the needed amenities and required fingerlings. The GHMC, Water Works, Fire, Electricity, Police and RTC were making their arrangements. Fisheries department will be providing two lakh fish for the program. Apart from government departments,  Badri Vishal Pannalal Pitti Trust and Agarwal Seva Dal were ensuring smooth administration  of fish medicine every year. They provide free meals, breakfast, drinking water, butter milk to the patients, who come across the globe and involve in all the necessary service, said Harinath Goud.

“On that day, we put a yellow herbal paste into mouth of live fish and drop it into the throat of patient. For vegetarians, the family will prepare separate medicine with jaggery. However, vegetarians need to take the prasadam for a longer period”, Harinath Goud said, adding that the patients, who want to get rid of asthma and respiratory ailments have to swallow fish prasadam continuously for four years.

After completion of the program at Exhibition Grounds, for the remaining patients we give fish prasadam at our residence at Doodbowli in Old city. (PMI)
